Systnaps, a Numeum member, at the 8th digital breakfast in the French National Assembly

On 28 September 2021, at the invitation of Valéria Faure-Muntian, MP for the Loire, and Amélia Lakrafi, MP for French citizens living abroad, Numeum organised its 8th digital breakfast at the French National Assembly.
Pierre-Marie Lehucher, co-chair of Numeum, together with Gilles Mezari and Jawaher Allala, board members of Numeum, presented the key figures for the digital sector during and after the health and economic crisis of recent months.

The key takeaways
- 2020 was a year of resilience for digital, with differences of course from one profession to another. Some companies were badly hit because of their sector exposure (industry, automotive, aerospace). 2021 was a year of rebound with strong growth.
- With an already encouraging first half, the digital market was expected to grow by 4.8% in 2021 and thus return to its 2019 size within the year. That is a very significant achievement, as returning to a pre-crisis market size will take longer for most other sectors.
- The return to growth is explained in particular by IT spending, which was expected to evolve significantly even though it remained conditional on customers' economic situation: migration to the cloud, along with improving the use of data, were the IT priorities for 54% of the customers of digital companies, who had already launched or would launch projects to that end in 2021.
Five main growth levers stand out
- Digital transformation (+10.8% growth expected in 2021): customer experience, process digitalisation, dematerialisation…
- Cloud C&SI — consulting and systems integration (+28.1% growth expected in 2021): verticalised clouds, globalised collaboration, the spread of container approaches, app/infrastructure modernisation and transformation…
- Big Data (+23.4% growth expected in 2021): collecting and using data to evolve business models and develop new services…
- IoT (+21.6% growth expected in 2021): developing new solutions with 5G and edge computing…
- Security (+9.2% growth expected in 2021): with growing investment and outsourcing to counter the surge in risks and attacks…
