2026: Generate less — Deliver better

In 2026, AI will make creation radically easier. But if we want that to be a success — and not a factory for lukewarm content — we should reread Steve Jobs. His “dream” was not just easy creation. It was easy creation… with taste. CONVENIENCE + CURATION.
Jobs was not only trying to reduce friction. He wanted to orchestrate the experience end to end (tool → use → distribution) so that ease would not turn into chaos. Today, AI has released a catch: an intention becomes a text, an image, a video, a slide, a piece of code. The result: ABUNDANCE.
And in abundance, the risk is simple: plenty of production, little editorial judgement. Plenty of outputs, few actual “choices”.
2026: the shift to get right
The winner will not be whoever “generates the most”. It will be whoever masters the chain INTENTION → QUALITY → TRUST → DISTRIBUTION.
What AI must learn in 2026 (if we want genuine success):
- TASTE: style, coherence, singularity (not merely “correct”).
- CURATION: knowing how to say no, to cut, to simplify, to prioritise.
- TRUTH: sources, traceability, limits, no bluffing.
- SECURITY/COMPLIANCE: data, secrets, rights, compliance by design.
- PRODUCT: “finished” experiences, not endless drafts.
My view
We are about to leave the age of PROMPTING and enter the age of PRODUCTIZING:
- agents, yes, but with guardrails,
- an editorial line,
- a standard of proof — because convenience without curation is noise. And noise, at scale, becomes a cost (time, trust, risk).
2026 = the year AI must move from “I can GENERATE anything” to “I know what to DELIVER”. Not just faster. Better.
What do you think?
